About this Portal
This portal was developed to help access resources and information on animal welfare in development cooperation projects, with focus on livestock. You will find information about the basic concepts of animal welfare, as well as international and regional guidelines, teaching resources, up-to-date research developments, examples of best practice, and support services.
The information is organised in five main areas, each one contains subtopics with links to other websites, to help you find what you need.

Who we are
Welttierschutzstiftung (WTS) is a charitable foundation, established in 2015 by Welttierschutzgesellschaft (WTG) e.V.
The foundation promotes animal welfare worldwide. WTS focuses on academic education and continuous professional development for veterinarians and veterinary paraprofessionals in emerging and developing countries.
It does so through scientific research promoting animal welfare, by raising awareness of animal welfare in society and in the search for solutions towards a global humane future. The foundation conducts its own projects and promotes external projects.
